Terms and Conditions

Kitchen Rates
Rate

Half -Kitchen Hire (4 people maximum)

⦁ May be sharing with another group of 4 people
⦁ Includes shared use of all sinks, Combi Oven, Gas Stove, Robot Coupe Food Processor & Vegetable Cutter, bowls, trays, utensils, knives and chopping boards.
⦁ Does not include the use of iVario cooker or long-term storage

$36 +GST Hourly

Full Kitchen Hire (for more than 4 people)

⦁ Exclusive use of the whole kitchen
⦁ Includes shared use of all sinks, Combi Oven, Gas Stove, Robot Coupe Food Processor & Vegetable Cutter, bowls, trays, utensils, knives and chopping boards.

By application

  • “DES Kitchen” means Design Engineering Solutions Pty Ltd ATF The Murray Family Trust (ABN 85 047 432 516)

  • All prices exclude GST.

  • Payment of the full hire fee must be paid in advance prior to use of the kitchen. Non-payment will see your booking forfeited.

  • Adhering to booking time frame is important. It is a requirement that the kitchen is cleaned and vacated within the time frame booked.  If another pre-booked hirer arrives to find the kitchen still in use they will have priority over the use of the equipment and facilities. Refer to clause 7 for fees incurred when overstaying.

  • It is only possible to extend time if another booking has not been entered into the booking calendar following your time slot. Payment is required at the time of booking an extension.

  • If the kitchen is not vacated within the booking time frame, additional fees as per the published rates will be charged back to the hirer and the hirer agrees to make payment on overtime. Overtime is calculated from Video and door lock security.

  • You may change or cancel your booking more than 48 hours prior to your hire period. Any changes cancellations, or no-shows less than 48 hours before the hire period are not refundable.

  • All prices exclude cleaning. If the kitchen and communal facilities (warehouse area, bathroom, and toilet) are left neat and tidy no additional charges will be incurred. However, excessive mess will incur an additional cleaning cost, as detailed in the published rates.

  • If cooking, preparing, or packing food items that are for sale whether directly or through catering events or third parties, a copy of your valid Public Liability Insurance and Food Business Licence will need to be received for all DES Kitchen bookings.

  • Food prepared is for human consumption only, no pet foods are permitted to be prepared, stored, or cooked in DES Kitchen. This includes dishes, plates, and containers that have been exposed to pet foods or other non-food consumables from outside of the kitchen.

  • The kitchen cannot be hired for the purposes of cleaning dishes and equipment only, unless the dishes are from food that was prepared in the kitchen from a previous hire. Cleaning dishes etc from outside of the kitchen must have been used to serve or prepare the food that was prepared in the kitchen.

  • The kitchen and its equipment must only be used to prepare legal food substances for human consumption.

  • All electrical equipment used in the DES Kitchen must be valid, tested and tagged by a licensed electrician.

  • All equipment available for use in the DES Kitchen is the property of Design Engineering Solutions Pty Ltd, and all items must always remain in the kitchen.

  • Specialist equipment can be bought into the kitchen however, it must be approved by DES kitchen management and must be electrically and mechanically safe with any additional electrical supply, exhaust, or drainage requirements pre-arranged with DES kitchen management. The equipment must be removed from the kitchen at the end of the hire period unless prior storage arrangements have been made and paid for.

  • Items NOT included in standard hire of the kitchen include:

    • Ivario cooker

    • Forklift additional hire fees and training are required to use this equipment.

  • All breakages, faults and damage must be reported to DES Kitchen management immediately with an SMS text to 0410 046 621, with photos and a full account of the incident. If the hirer is found to be negligent in the use of the equipment resulting in a fault or damage, the cost of repair and/or replacement will be borne by the hirer.

  • Normal wear and tear are acceptable, however if negligence or excessive force results in damage to any surfaces, this need to be reported to DES Kitchen management immediately via SMS text to 0410 046 621, with photos and a full account of the incident.

  • The hirer agrees to operate and use the kitchen under their own safety management plan. Slips trips and falls, burns etc caused b incorrect operation of the kitchen or failure to use the correct PPE are deemed to be managed by the hirer’s own safety management plan.

  • Any specific PPE or hygienic apparel required by the hirer is their responsibility to provide, e.g., face shield, gloves, footwear, aprons, hair nets, glasses or googles.

  • All catering, supplies and ingredient requirements are the responsibility of the hirer to provide.

  • Respect other people’s ingredients, stored goods, and food items located in DES Kitchen. Do not take from other people’s stock.

  • For safety and security, the hirer understands that the kitchen, carpark, and communal areas (excluding toilet area) is equipped with video and sound recording.

  • Design Engineering Solutions Pty Ltd reserves the right to review video recorded if any of the equipment or facilities are damaged or there is an incident of theft, wilful damage, or behavioural misconduct. The video will be shared with law enforcement authorities only in the event an incident occurs.

  • It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure secure and responsible use of the keypad lock at the main gate of the complex and the door to the DES Kitchen building, i.e. No jamming the front gate open during out of hours hire periods. The gate is on a time lock and automatically closes (6pm to 6am). During this period access and exit is gained with a key code. The main door to DES Kitchen always requires a key code and is issued at time of payment.  Any damage repairs or security call out fees incurred because of misusing the key lock and front gate will be at the cost of the hirer.

  • Details of the keypad and front gate combination is private and cannot be shared with others. Door codes etc are cleared at the termination of the hire period (unless there is a recurring booking)

  • The hirer will ensure that its staff, management, contractors, guests, and invitees comply with these terms and conditions. SMS text to 0410 046 621 for any issues relating to the above conditions during the hire period.All persons proposing to hire the DES Kitchen or storage areas must agree to these Terms and Conditions prior to the commencement of hire.
